Army vs. Navy Preview and Picks:

This will be a rather short run-down, but this one all comes down to Navy’s offensive efficiency this season. The Midshipment rank 8th in the country in yards per play at 6.7 while Army ranks 113th with just 4.8.

Navy is also gaining almost 95 more yards per game than Army as well this season. The offensive firepower of Navy this season is on par with the most elite power 4 conference teams in the nation. They also have the biggest win between the two teams this year defeating USF and putting up 41 points against them.

In what should be a run heavy affair as usual, this one could come down to 3rd down conversions. Navy ranks 19th nationally in 3rd down conversion % meanwhile Army’s defense is 126th in stopping it.

Navy should have no problem moving the ball with ease against Army’s defense in this one. The O/U in this one is also extremely low given Navy’s putting up over 30 PPG and Army is also putting up 22 PPG. The under is favored in this rivalry hitting at a 17-2 rate since 2006.

The play in this one though is just taking Navy to cover as well as their team total points over. In case Army backdoors at the very end because of this heated rivalry and the emotions involved, Professor Chirpy is confident that we can at least hedge with the Navy over.
